#AroundYQR is a mini project where I’m highlighting some great coffee shops & local restaurants as suggested by you guys. See them all right here.

I think everything about Tangerine can be accurately summed up it’s it’s unique Wi-Fi name “Welcome to Tangerine”.

I go to A LOT of coffee shops yet never before have I seen something so fresh and friendly when trying to figure out how to get my internet fix.

And those are two words that I think capture what I love about Tangerine.

I’ve been coming here off and on for the better part of 5 years since discovering it from a job working south downtown, and while I’m not a weekly customer, I’m sure I’ve been here probably a dozen times.

Tangerine-6And the only thing I remember being the same from visit to visit is the Dilled Egg Salad – the 2nd-best egg salad I’ve ever had (Mine’s world-famous amongst my friends).

Other than that, I love that every time I come, there’s always a new sammie, soup, salads or desserts to pick from.

I’m a guy who really likes change so knowing that I’m not going to be limited to the same options every day is awesome.

But, I also appreciate they don’t try to do too much which means that they do what they do really, really well.

Don’t let the pictures fool you (I came when I knew it would be a slower time at the end of the afternoon), Tangerine is a busy, busy lunch spot because of it.

Yet, here’s where the word “friendly” comes in.

No matter how busy I’ve seen them, there always seems to be such a great vibe about this place.

From the rustic floors, giant windows to the orange booths and gigantic mirror, this place always seems to be filled with good chatter and positive energy.

Tangerine-15Staff always seem to have a smile on their face and willing to chat for a few seconds.

Maybe the staff get free access to the 20 flavours of sodas I’ve never even heard of (like curiosity cola)!

I know that would make me very happy because all the ones I’ve tried have been delicious.

This is definitely one of those spots I’m sending people to when they’re new here.

I feel like this is one of those places that makes all of us Reginians look good.

So if you haven’t been to Tangerine before, you should definitely go check it out on the corner of 14th Ave and Lorne.

I think you’ll love it.

So this is just my experience. How’s yours been here? Would love to hear from you guys so drop a comment below.
