Follow Up: The Fray & U2 Weekend
The sound was really good for it being an outdoor show. There are a lot of variables with outdoor, but they nailed it. It's amazing how many shows I go to where instruments aren't heard or the vocals are muffled. Not so at this show.
You could clearly make out the lyrics for both The Fray and U2, vocals were good (really good!), and the instruments were really clear. There was a lot of low-end oomph which was nice and it wasn't crazy loud (about 100db according to the phone DB meter which might be suspect).
The only thing I would've changed was to have a little more definition on Adam's bass. You could definitely feel it, but there were times you couldn't hear what he was doing. That's probably a style choice as they would've had to carve out some frequencies from somewhere else to make that happen and I'm a bass player, so my opinion is skewed.
All-in-all it was a truly amazing show. Lots of energy. It was fun. My ears didn't hurt.
